What Ovation collects
Runners give us a first name, race details (name, distance, goal time, optional location), and optionally an email for recovering their HQ link. Friends who cheer give us a first name, a voice recording, and optionally a song pick. If a runner turns on live tracking, we hold their route for the current run so friends can see it on a map. Each new run replaces the last trail, and turning tracking off deletes it.
Who can hear what
Recordings are shared with the runner and played aloud during their race. The runner can listen to and delete any message from their Race HQ. Live tracking is off by default and visible only to people the runner gives the tracker link.
Where it lives
Data is stored on Fly.io servers in the United States. We don't sell it, run ads against it, or share it with anyone beyond the runner you sent it to.
Deleting things
Runners can remove any message from their Race HQ, which deletes the audio. To remove a whole race or anything else, email christina.m.codes@gmail.com and it's done.
Alpha honesty
Ovation is in early testing. Error logs (never audio) may be recorded to fix bugs, and this policy will grow up alongside the product. If anything here worries you, write us before you hit send.
